We became Ames & Whitaker in 1990. Ames & Whitaker In Brief. Ames & Whitaker is owned and managed by three principals: T. Gregory Ames, Jr., AIA, Stephen C. Whitaker, AIA and Roger W. Saulnier, AIA Ames & Whitaker maintains a staff of 20 people. Six individuals are registered architects in Connecticut. Other registrations carried are all of New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Washington DC, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The firm's principals have been in practice for over 30 years. The firm's principals, senior staff and architects-in-training are all members of the American Institute of Architects and AIA Connecticut Ames & Whitaker has its offices in an 1885 historic Victorian brick home restored and converted to offices by the firm’s principals who also own the building. The fully equipped office includes XP Based drafting stations utilizing Autocad Architectural Desktop 2005/2006 software. All systems are networked using MS Server 2003. Ames & Whitaker maintains workmen's compensation and standard public liability insurance. Our professional liability insurance coverage is in the amount of $1,000,000. Ames & Whitaker is licensed as a corporation for the practice of architecture by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (license #11).
